Luke 1:26-38

QUESTIONS:

What is the most frightening thing that you have ever done? How did you make it through?

What do you think is the root source of fear?

Why would Mary be “deeply troubled” at the announcement that the Lord was with her? Why do you think that the angel told her she was favored twice?

Does being favored by the Lord mean things are going easy? Explain.

Do you think knowing that she was about to give birth to the Messiah would increase her fear or lessen it?

When we are afraid, what can we do to help ourselves find peace?

PRAYER:

Ask the Lord to help those who live in fear. Pray that God will bring them more courage and confidence through the beauty of the gospel. And if God is calling you to a very difficult task, pray for a boldness in the gospel to take that difficult step.
